We just got back from Hawaii. Yoshie's brother got married in Waikiki the afternoon of May 5. For you tiny bubbles fans that was the same time and place as the memorial service for Don Ho, which included a flotilla of surfers and outrigger canoes, a water cannon salute and even an F-15 flyby! Afterwards there was a concert at the Diamond Head end of the beach. Memorable backdrop for the wedding and reception.

Hello kiddies
Went to Sanrio Puroland (home of Hello Kitty) today. A bizarre combination of Disneyland, Shakespeare and Vegas. The kids had fun.

Four (or is it five?) emails to Purehost and I'm still waiting for them to cancel my webhosting account. I think I made the right decision to move. Why oh why do companies think that by making it difficult to cancel their service they can increase their business? Such short-sightedness. If my new hosting company doesn't work out I'm sure as heck not going back to a company that made it so difficult to leave.

Virtual move
I'm in the process of moving zanid.com to a new hosting company. So things may be slow, missing or both for a few days until the internet settles down. Things being this website and any email@zanid.com. Ok, this blog has been slow for years but you know what I mean...

Man purse
After years of resistance I finally broke down and bought a man purse at Tokyu Hands today. Not the brand that William Gibson recommended, but the next aisle over.

Sakura wonderland
It's cherry blossom time again in Japan. When drunken parties take place in parks next to children playing, construction workers taking toilet breaks, golfers taking practice swings in the middle of the road, and girls dressed up as comic book characters having their photos taken while looking sullen and wielding samurai swords. This was the scene when I took Yukiko to the local park to play this past Saturday. You can't make this stuff up.
